Makaha is located on the Waianae Coast of Oahu, about a one-hour drive from Honolulu. It is a remote and beautiful locale with a great beach that is rarely crowded.

Makaha is a well known surfing beach (parts of the movie "Blue Crush" were filmed here), and is also a great place to scuba dive, snorkel, swim or just sunbathe.

The beach is never crowded, but there is always something going on. Among the many things to observe here are: dolphin, whales (in the winter months), canoe races, surf competitions (depending on time of year), and surfing all year round. Occasionally a Monk Seal will make an appearance, and there are numerous Sea Turtles living just beyond the reef. These will also make an appearance at the shore of the beach once in awhile.

Just inland from the beach is Makaha Valley. In the Valley there is hiking, golf, wild peacock, and even an ancient hawaiian heiau (sacred ground).

You can enjoy all that Makaha has to offer in our one-bedroom condo at The Makaha Shores. All of the pictures on this page were taken from the building, which is located at the surfing end of Makaha Beach. The views are spectacular, and you can't get any closer to the beach!
